The DeKalb County Animal Adoption Center (DCAAC), located in Fort Payne, AL, serves as animal control for both the City of Fort Payne and all of DeKalb County. Our shelter provides care and temporary housing for animals while they wait to be reunited with their families or adopted into loving homes.
If you have lost a pet, we encourage you to check with the shelter often, as new animals arrive regularly.

Anyone interested in adopting can complete an adoption application. Once approved, the $80 adoption fee includes:
